The sea of sees?

Important information crossed the news desk not long ago when the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission issued a statement setting out the very important role it plays collecting intelligence on criminals targeting programs funded by the Commonwealth Government

According to the Commission there are ‘professional facilitators’ amongst us who include; “criminally complicit accountants and registered tax agents (who) are assisting serious and organised crime groups to defraud government programs and schemes.”

Not only are there dodgy accountants etc, the Commission finds “Serious and organised crime groups will continue to look for vulnerabilities in Commonwealth-funded programs in order to exploit the system.”

With the Commission in place and actively busy protecting the Federal Government’s interests PS-sssst! wonders if there might not be a name-change in the wind for this most impressive of organisations.

With a Federal Government recently winning an election on the promise of an Independent Commission Against Corruption or ICAC for short, can it also be home to the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission which goes under the abbreviation ACIC?

ICAC and ACIC?

We’ll have to wait and ‘C’!

Raining or pooring?

A welcome visit by the wise and witty wisdom of Philomena S of the Victorian Department of Health now who has donated yet another clever comical contribution to PS playfulness that can often be the difference between a fun or frantic workday.

Philomena tells of the wife texting her husband on a cold winter morning: “Windows frozen, won’t open.”

Husband texts back: “Pour some lukewarm water over it and then gently tap edges with hammer.”

Wife texts back 10 minutes later: “Computer really messed up now.”
