What you’ll do: Reporting to the Assistant Secretary, the Director of the Project Management and Systems Readiness team is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the schools USI project through the USI Registry System and in collaboration with state/territory jurisdictions and the non-government school sector. The Director will work collaboratively with the Director of the Strategic Policy team and staff across the branch to ensure effective delivery of the schools USI project.

As an initiative under the National School Reform Agreement, the project is overseen by the Australian Education Senior Officials Committee (AESOC). The Director will manage the Schools Policy Group (SPG) Schools USI Implementation Working Group, including providing secretariat services and support for the Chair (Assistant Secretary, USI Branch).

The Director will work closely with the Office for the Student Identifiers Registrar (OSIR) and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) and other stakeholders to support the project and ensure systems are ready for implementation of the USI within the agreed timeframes and milestones of the National School Reform Agreement.

The Director will be responsible for the development of a data governance framework with NSW and overseeing the project’s financial management. In undertaking this significant piece of work, the Director is responsible for meeting assurance planning requirements, and providing timely and accurate project reports.
