City Services is calling for feedback on draft designs for improvements to the Lake Tuggeranong Foreshore.

Welcoming the draft designs, Minister for Transport and City Services, Chris Steel said the designs focused on the priorities identified in community feedback.

Ms Steel said this included upgrading the Tuggeranong Town Park playground with new equipment, to provide more accessible play and picnic spots.

“Features include nature play, a climber rope and balance challenge,” Mr Steel said.

He said the existing Tuggeranong Town Park toilet would be replaced with new, accessible facilities.

He said the draft designs included improvements to the accessibility and safety of the foreshore path network, including widening the path around sharp corners near the boardwalk, removing obstacles and providing new street furniture to sit and rest.

The Directorate has proposed improvements to way-finding around the foreshore, tree planting along the eastern side of the lake, and works to address safety issues at the Tuggeranong Skate Park

Mr Steel said the designs, including artist impressions, were available to view on the YourSay project page, with feedback open until 9 October.

“Following community feedback on the draft designs we’ve finalised plans for the new community recreation park at Casey, ready for construction to begin in 2023,” he said.
