Amanda Canzurlo is the singer/songwriter Bloom and Choices is her impressive new single.

Many of you may have seen her on The Voice doing a duet of What’s Love Got To Do With It with her fiancé James Morley.

She has also made quite a good career for herself doing a series of well received tribute shows that have toured the club circuit.

She’s covered Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King (this was a great show), Eva Cassidy, Adele and Amy Winehouse that I know of.

But Bloom is also an established songwriter in her own right and Choices is an excellent song about believing in yourself to make the right choices, even in the face of expectations and pressures that pull and push in different directions.

The song was co-written and produced with Kalin Ignatov-Velev (who I know little about) and it arose out of Bloom’s personal experience where pressures led to her being unable to do what is a core function for a song writer, write music.

Writer’s block is an experience that can be debilitating and it’s a subject that she explored in her 2020 single A Minute.

The trauma that led to her inability to work on her craft obviously still lingers and now that she’s through the worst of it, makes a powerful subject to write about.

Bloom is a seasoned performer, having toured Australia and New Zealand many times.

She’s sung the national anthem at the beginning of Bledisloe Cup rugby matches and been praised as an outstanding singer by many Aussie leading performers.

There’s a clip of the song on YouTube.
