The Department of Education has announced that the School Support Staff Recognition Week 2020 (SSSRW) is to be held from 7 to 11 September.
In a statement, the Department said 2020 had been one of the toughest years on record, the like of which school staff might not face again for the rest of their careers.
“We know that you have being going above and beyond during this pandemic to support your school — so thank you,” the Department said.
“Thank you to all the business managers, administration officers, schools officers, IT officers, science technicians, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and agricultural assistants.
“To the unit support officers, community liaison officers, community education counsellors, youth support coordinators, VET coordinators and all our school support staff who make education happen.”
It said support for SSSRW this year was being provided by QSuper.
“QSuper is offering a school support staff worker a chance to win $1,000 for their school and $200 for themselves in recognition of what they do for their school,” the Department said.
“To enter, school communities and other school staff members are invited to nominate a school support staff worker.”
It said that other ways staff could support School Support Staff Recognition Week was by putting up a poster at their school or by sharing the QSuper competition with other school staff and on social media.
Posters can be accessed at this PS News link.
