Public Servants looking to advance their careers and adapt to the ‘new normal’ are being encouraged to participate in online short courses from the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment’s (OCPSE) South Australian Leadership Academy (SALA).

Highlighting the Leadership Series, OCPSE said SALA was committed to developing leaders across all levels of the Public Sector to promote a resilient and future-focused workforce.

The Office said hybrid teams, emerging technologies, increased competition for talent, and constant disruption were all features of the modern workplace.

“How we work is rapidly changing,” OCPSE said.

“Within this environment, it’s increasingly crucial for us to invest in our professional development so that our sector can deliver its best work for all South Australians.”

It said the Leadership Series offered online short courses designed to grow knowledge quickly and offered dynamic, practical content relevant to public servants’ work, “which can be easily applied within your team.”

OCPSE said upcoming workshops and events included Leveraging Hybrid Teams for Productivity (6 June); Performance Management Essentials (31 May); Cultivating a Growth Mindset (11 May); Managing Rapid Change (24 May); Developing a Customer Centric Approach (23 May); and Promoting a Safe and Inclusive Workplace (9 June).

SALA said that through its Leadership Development Programs it aimed to provide ongoing learning experiences for aspiring managers and experienced executives; deliver thoughtful and analytical development programs; develop leaders who led with integrity and created safe, inclusive work cultures; strengthen collaboration across Departments, community and the private sector; and enhance workforce performance and potentials.
