The Fair Work Commission launched a new subscriptions service this week (Monday, 9 May), ensuring that updates to subscriptions are distributed without the need to create an account.

Launching the new service, the Commission said it had migrated all existing subscribers to the new service which would ensure important updates were received.

It said the only noticeable changes would be to the visual design of the emails it sent; the way people updated their preferences; and how they subscribed to the service.

“The requirement to create an account has also been removed,” the Commission said.

“This will make it easier to subscribe to our alerts and edit your preferences,” it said.

“To update your preferences in the new system, you will need to click the ‘update preferences’ link in any subscriber alert you receive.”

The Commission said its subscription service sent out email updates on more than 20 topics, with people able to select the topics they were interested in.

It said people could choose to receive updates on awards content only, which included alerts when the content of one or more awards changed, or the Commission issued a document such as a decision even if it did not vary the award.

It said people could also subscribe for updates on all award matters, including alerts when an application to review an award was lodged or when Fair Work began a review.

“This includes information about hearings, proceedings, submissions and decisions, plus the ‘individual award updates’,” the Commission said.

It said its general news and announcements subscription service included updates on changes to its practices and procedures, forms and benchbooks.

The Commission said people could also subscribe for decisions updates, the FWC Bulletin and major cases.
