The City Renewal Authority (CRA) has launched a new digital tool to better communicate renewal projects happening across the city centre.

Chief Executive Officer at the Authority, Malcolm Snow said the Precinct Portal showcased the range of renewal work being undertaken by the Authority in an interactive and more visual way.

“The Portal supports several technical features to show our city precinct, which stretches from Dickson, up Northbourne Avenue to Civic and the northern edge of Lake Burley Griffin,” Mr Snow said.

“Users can choose their own adventure when exploring the digital map, engaging with content they care about most at every level through a series of animations, 3D visualisations, images, image sliders and video content,” he said.

“This Portal invites users to linger and dive into the detail of how their city is changing.”

Mr Snow said the Portal also provided an overview of all the different projects the Authority was working on and explained how the initiatives were interconnected to make Canberra city even better.

“It is an innovative tool that reflects an evolution of Government digital practices, offering an engaging and immersive experience that is both more accessible and informative,” he said.

“Place is at the core of our renewal program and the Portal gives us a platform to describe our work, our renewal goals and how we are realising them.”

He said the Portal was in its infancy and the Authority hoped to explore possibilities for its expansion as a tool for digital storytelling and community engagement.

Mr Snow invited people to send their feedback on the Portal to [email protected], as well as any comments on how they would like to receive information about City Renewal Authority projects.

The CRA’s Precinct Portal can be accessed at this PS News link.
