The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is inviting passengers of Adelaide Metro buses, trains and trams to participate in a survey to identify and reduce inappropriate behaviour and fare evasion.
Urging passengers to “See it? Report it” the Department’s online reporting tool is aimed at improving the safety of customers and drivers by enabling Adelaide Metro to use the data to develop strategies targeting hotspots across its network.
It said Adelaide Metro is to progressively roll out 35,000 stickers across the fleet, train and bus stops and at major interchanges, each sticker containing a QR code linking to an online reporting tool where passengers can report an incident.
Adelaide Metro said stickers are being displayed at various locations on vehicles, including behind seats, to enable passengers to submit a report discreetly.
“The survey will ask passengers to provide information about the route, location, date and type of incident,” it said.
“Types of incidents include the abuse of passengers/drivers, fare evasion, disorderly behaviour, graffiti/vandalism, smoking, or vaping.”
It said the survey will not ask passengers for their names or contact details when making a report, however, they will be able to provide the information by using a link to the Adelaide Metro feedback page.
The online survey can be accessed at this PS News link with the campaign running until February 2023.
