Chief Scientist for academia
Chief Defence Scientist, Alex Zelinsky (pictured) has resigned from the Defence Science and Technology (DST) group.
Dr Zelinsky, who has led DST since 2012, is to take up the appointment of Vice Chancellor of the University of Newcastle.
He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday honours.
Investment Agency head named
Brendan Crotty has been appointed the inaugural Chair of the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) for a three-year term.
Mr Crotty will begin his appointment following passage of the enabling legislation for the NHFIC, after which it will administer the $1 billion National Housing Infrastructure Facility to invest in critical infrastructure to unlock new housing supply.
Mr Crotty was Chair of Western Sydney Parklands Trust for nine years to the end of 2017.
