Nominations are now open for the annual Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools, recognising the educators and schools making an inspirational difference in their students’ lives.
Minister for Education, Grace Grace said the program had been recognising and rewarding State schools for more than 21 years for their efforts in significantly improving student learning outcomes.
“As Education Minister I have seen some amazing entrants and winners over the years and I look forward to seeing more examples of excellent teaching and leadership practices in 2021,” Ms Grace said.
“The 10 award categories showcase a wide range of excellence in teaching practice from the earliest years through to senior levels.”
Nominations close on 7 May and can be made on the Showcase website at this PS News link.
Also seeking nominations are the 2021 Queensland Training Awards, which have been celebrating the transformational power that skills can bring for the past 60 years.
Minister for Training and Skills Development, Di Farmer said she was delighted to see that the awards were now in their Diamond Jubilee year.
“The awards acknowledge and reward our dedicated and hard-working apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers and trainers, as well as the employers, training providers and community projects that are striving for excellence and innovation in the training system,” Ms Farmer said.
“Many of these stories are nothing short of inspiring, and I encourage eligible Queenslanders to nominate so we can share them and celebrate the power of skills in 2021.”
Nominations for the Queensland Training Awards close on 21 March and can be made at this PS News link.
