Parks Victoria is inviting travellers to go somewhere new in the State as part of its autumn Unseen Places campaign.
The Agency said Victorians could find unexpected adventures and revel in the serenity and unique scenery of Victoria’s diverse natural landscapes this autumn.
“No one knows Victorian parks quite like park rangers, so if you’re chasing a new experience in nature, away from the crowds, let our rangers be your guide this autumn,” Parks Victoria said.
“From the rugged bushlands of Greater Bendigo National Park on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in the north, to the windswept landscapes at French Island National Park on Bunurong Country, you don’t have to travel far from Melbourne to get out of town,” it said.
“And there are so many more Unseen Places to discover.”
Parks Victoria said that for those interested in “going off-grid”, French Island National Park was only an hour and a half from Melbourne and home to the most significant population of koalas in Victoria.
“It’s a nature-lover’s wonderland, with over 100 native orchid species and over 230 bird species recorded including rare birds like the White-bellied Sea-Eagle, King Quail and the Orange-bellied Parrot,” it said.
“Its diverse landscape of heathlands, woodlands, mangroves, saltmarshes and more make this a truly unique place to visit.”
The Agency said people could discover more Unseen Places to visit on its website.
