Tourism WA has launched a new campaign, Give the Gift of Travel, in time for Christmas.

Managing Director of Tourism WA, Carolyn Turnbull said the campaign encouraged people to book or buy vouchers for tourism experiences in Western Australia direct with local operators or travel agents.

Ms Turnbull said the campaign was being run across social, digital and print media throughout the State and complemented Tourism Australia’s national gifting campaign, which highlighted the depth and breadth of travel experiences that could easily be given as gifts.

She said social media advertising would also target people living interstate, enticing them to purchase local tourism experiences for WA-based friends and relatives.

Ms Turnbull said people visiting the Give the Gift of Travel website could choose from accommodation, tours and attractions catering to a range of interests, including food and drink; nature and wildlife; and Aboriginal culture.

The Managing Director said the campaign highlighted the depth and breadth of tourism experiences available in the State.

“Giving a tourism experience is so much more memorable and meaningful than giving a physical gift and in WA we really are spoiled for choice when it comes to the adventures on offer,” she said.

“From a Margaret River Adventure Tour for mum or dad to a bucket-list whale shark swim for your best friend, when you buy a WA tourism experience this festive season, you’re showing your loved ones you care, and supporting the tourism industry too,” Ms Turnbull said.
