A concept proposal for a new hospital in West Gosford has been released for public feedback by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE).

Executive Director of Regions, Industry and Key Sites at DPIE, Anthea Sargeant said the concept proposal for Northside Private Hospital at the corner of Faunce Street West and Racecourse Road included two building envelopes to be developed over two stages.

“The first stage of development includes the demolition of existing buildings, bulk earth works, infrastructure and services, vehicle access and carparking, landscaping works and construction of the main building on Faunce Street West,” Ms Sargeant said.

“The detailed proposal for the second stage (the building along Racecourse Road), and any internal fit out of the main building, will be subject to future development applications,” she said.

“Community input is essential to help us make a thorough and rigorous assessment and ensure potential impacts are fully considered.”

Ms Sargeant said the proposed hospital would consist of in-patient units, GP clinics, radiology and pathology rooms, an intensive care unit, operating theatres and ancillary retail.

She said the plans could be viewed in Gosford at the Central Coast Council on Mann street, DPIE’s Information Centre on Mann Street and at Gosford Library on Donnison Street.
