Tourism WA’s new hospitality and tourism recruitment campaign, Discover the Other Side, targets hospitality and tourism workers from interstate and New Zealand.
The campaign, which has been developed in collaboration with other key industry and Government stakeholders, seeks to address skills shortages in the hospitality and tourism industries.
A range of skilled and unskilled workers are sought after by the hospitality and tourism industries, including chefs, wait staff, baristas, bar tenders, managers and tour operators.
In a statement, Tourism WA said a recently-launched ‘westernaustralia.jobs’ website, was a one-stop shop for job seekers looking for opportunities in the State.
“Employers in tourism and hospitality are strongly encouraged to load their jobs onto the free portal as soon as possible,” Tourism WA said.
Premier, Mark McGowan said summer was the busiest time of year for local hospitality and tourism industries so the timing of this campaign was critical to help attract young workers to the State.
“With our strong and thriving economy, relaxed lifestyle and great attractions, there’s no better time to make the move to WA and work in these high-demand industries,” Mr McGowan said.
“As someone who relocated to WA for work in my 20s and has remained here ever since, I can safely say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
