Service NSW has expanded the popular Energy Switch service to include gas.
According to the Premier, Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Energy and Environment, Matthew Kean the move means more than 1.3 million households across the State can now save potentially hundreds of dollars a year on gas bills.
The Premier and Minister launched the expansion of Energy Switch jointly, with the Premier saying that as winter had come it was time to compare gas and electricity plans.
“It takes only minutes but could save hundreds of dollars a year,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Energy Switch helps ease the cost of living for families by helping them find the best deal.”
She said Energy Switch was one of more than 40 NSW Government rebates and incentives easing the cost of living.
Mr Kean said the Government was determined to make energy more affordable for NSW families.
“Energy Switch works by using a customer’s latest energy e-bill and comparing it with every retailer in NSW before presenting the top three plans available,” Mr Kean said.
“If a switch is requested, Service NSW will make all the arrangements.”
He said that since the service launched in 2018, the average household was saving more than $400 a year.
“Nearly 7,000 households have already switched electricity providers, bringing close to $3 million in annual savings,” Mr Kean said.
