By Ollee Owens, Independent 2022.

Ollee Owens is a soul/blues singer from Calgary, Alberta, in Canada that I’ve just come across and she’s got one hell of a voice.

Edge Of Goodbye is one of two singles that she’s released recently and it’s about the ebb and flow of relationships that sometimes teeter on the edge of collapse.

The song was produced by Bobby Blazier and it was recorded at the height of the pandemic between Nashville and Calgary.

I can find little information about Ollee Owens, but her outstanding vocals and mastery of the soul/blues genre suggests that she is not new to the music scene.

She’s backed by an impressive band and Edge Of Goodbye is a well written and recorded track.

The blurb that came with the single summed up Ollee Owens when it described her as possessing “a lyrical mastery paired with a voice that reveals a well-travelled soul.”

There’s experience imbedded in her writing and presentation, and it manifests itself in this electrifying bluesy track.

It’s infectious with its driving beat and impressive guitar work.

It hooks you in and has you going back for multiple listens.

The other single Every Step of The Way was released in 2021 and it’s a blues/country track that is also impressive.

The two songs suggest that Ollee Owens has the capacity to put out a good album and she’s got the makings for international success.

She’s certainly got one of the best voices I’ve heard in some time.
