An independent investigation into the operations of the SkyCity Casino has called for submissions from industry, stakeholders and the broader community.

In a statement, Consumer and Business Services (CBS) said input was being sought from anyone who may have information relevant to the Terms of Reference of Retired Supreme Court Judge, Brian Martin’s investigation.

CBS said Mr Martin was last month appointed to head the investigation, following systemic concerns raised by inquiries in other jurisdictions.

“Mr Martin’s investigation is considering whether SkyCity Adelaide is suitable to hold the casino licence and whether SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited is suitable to be a close associate of SkyCity Adelaide,” it said.

“Mr Martin seeks submissions to assist him to identify lines of inquiry relevant to the investigation.”

CBS said Mr Martin was to provide the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner with a report of his findings by 1 February 2023.

Submissions are open until 10 August and items relevant to the topics outlined in the Terms of Reference can be made using an online form.

Submissions can also be posted to CBS Independent Review, GPO Box 11021, Adelaide SA 5001.

“If you would like your identity to remain confidential, you should say so in the submission,” CBS said.

The three-page Terms of Reference can be accessed at this PS News link and the online submission form at this link.
