The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) is seeking Indigenous applicants for an internship placement over summer.
Part of the Aurora Project which provides hands-on experience and insight into working in the Indigenous sector in Australia, the internships are designed for students, near-graduates and graduates transitioning into the workforce.
Dean and Chief Executive of ANZSOG, Ken Smith said the organisation was committed to building strong Indigenous representation and leadership in the public sector and supporting the development of culturally competent public services.
“ANZSOG, with the support of the Australian Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, has delivered a number of successful events including an Indigenous Public Servant Forum and two Indigenous Public Administration Conferences,” Professor Smith said.
“The First Peoples team at ANZSOG also contributes to policy papers and research.”
He said ANZSOG was working to build Indigenous leadership capacity across public services, and improve the representation of First Peoples’ knowledge, wisdom and experiences in its teaching, learning and research.
“The internships are full-time and run from four to six weeks. Indigenous interns are eligible for scholarships to cover their daily living expenses,” Professor Smith said.
Applications for the summer 2019-2020 round close on 30 August.
