90 William St, Sydney, NSW
Email: [email protected]

Overview:
Closing the Gap through solutions driven by First Nations leadership, knowledge and systems.

The Productivity Commission’s first review of progress on the National Agreement on Closing the Gap revealed governments have largely not fulfilled their commitments under the agreement. The time to take important action is now.

When the knowledge and solutions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are embedded in the policy and programs that directly impact them, better outcomes are achieved.

The Partnerships in First Nations Policy and Programs Conference uniquely brings together leaders from government and the community-controlled sector in a united forum to unpack the critical action needed for progress in Closing the Gap.

With a focus on genuine partnership-building, shared decision-making and increasing the capacity of the community-controlled sector, this forum will showcase examples of meaningful partnerships and ways forward for First Nations communities to self-determine the pathways to better outcomes.

What to expect
Engage with compelling keynotes and case studies in a united forum of shared wisdom, knowledge and insight.

Hear directly from First Nations leaders from government and community organisations on how to implement successful policies and programs.

Gain real-world learning with practical examples, case studies and lived experiences. Build new connections with cross-sector representatives, forging lasting relationships to support collaboration between community and government.

Walk away with the ideas, knowledge and capabilities to implement meaningful action and enable genuine collaboration.

The weight on the shoulders of leaders has taken a gravitational shift. We are dealing with a future of economic volatility, building a positive culture in remote teams, with wellbeing at the centre of decision-making, and increasing expectations on agile innovation.

From our first step until our last step … what is your footprint on this planet going to be?

Leadership is not a title. We are all leaders. We all have the ability to influence. Some lead people down the garden path. Others lead us to a brighter destination. What are the actions we take when no-one is watching? What is your gravity of leadership? Are you creating a gravitational pull or a gravitational push?

Understanding the gravity of your leadership and how it positively or negatively affects the people you influence is crucial to your own and your organisation’s success. The future of leadership requires a heart-centred, human-centric and nurturing rising talent approach.

It’s our role to ensure that other people feel like the most important person in the room. We must think differently if we are going to be a pacesetter who embraces change and stands united at the cutting edge.
