The celebration of all things chocolate for all the family at the newly-opened five-star Mövenpick Hotel Wellington.

It was a flashback moment remembering that famous quote from Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump: “My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

The celebration of all things chocolate was laid out to rejoice at the opening of Mövenpick Hotel Wellington last month. It was transformed into an edible chocolate wonderland! It was a joyous occasion for those inhouse, especially the youngsters. Not only that, but New Zealand’s capital city venue also offers its famous daily chocolate hour, a 24-hour sundae service and free ice cream for kids throughout their stay! Those with a sweet tooth will delight in those 60-minutes – a decadent chocolate experience with live demonstrations, from rolling truffles to icing cupcakes, staged every afternoon in the hotel lobby.

Overlooking the vibrant Cuba Quarter, the hotel is within walking distance of the Te Papa Museum, art galleries and offers easy access to Wellington’s best restaurants, bars and shopping destinations.

Sarah Derry, Chief Executive Officer Accor Pacific, said launching the Wellington arm of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in New Zealand on World Chocolate Day felt “truly authentic to the brand, giving them the chance to connect with Wellingtonians on a personal level.”

After the chain’s recent launch in Auckland, enthusiasm was uppermost as everyone enjoyed the distinct moments and flavours including the signature Mövenpick ice cream sundaes and delicious hand-made chocolate treats.

Comfortable accommodation at Mövenpick Hotel Wellington.

Mövenpick Hotel Wellington’s central location on The Terrace gives access to some of the capital’s best retail, dining and leisure attractions. However, you won’t need to stray too far with the hotel’s signature restaurant and bar, Forage, providing a delectable dining experience.

Celebrating Mövenpick’s more than 70-year-old rich culinary legacy, Forage overlooks Mount Victoria and the bustling city. Head chef Amey Rane is passionate about sustainable dining and has crafted a menu which focuses on “head-to-tail dining” and local ingredients.

To balance the decadent treats on offer, Healthy Shots – energy shots blended with juice or yogurt and fresh fruit and vegetables – were also complimentary and offered to guests at the breakfast counter. Another fantastic option for families is the Kids Retreat and a 12m lap pool.

A little too much chocolate is just about the right amount!

A multi-million-dollar renovation program has been completed at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa.

We were looking for a memorable sojourn and from past experience, we knew the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa was a great place to kick back and relax under the tropical sun!

Now the property has undergone a big renovation, the drawcard is even stronger. Situated on a private beachfront location on Denarau Island – the renovation has taken three years to complete and features a total transformation of guestrooms and public spaces including several new amenities and experiences for travellers to enjoy.

A $50-million capital investment, led by interior design studio CHADA, whose inspiration stemmed from the resort’s local surroundings where land meets the ocean.

This was the first full renovation since the property opened its doors in 2005. The resort is a modern retreat where beach resort merges with luxury hotel facilities, surrounded by Fiji’s beauty and culture, polished by a touch of French elegance.

As Vincent Macquet, the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa’s general manager says: “The property has been completely reimagined to exceed today’s luxury standards while still maintaining the gracious and heartfelt warmth of our Fijian spirit. We are thrilled to unveil this renovation and welcome guests back to Fiji so they can discover our new and stylish resort.”
