Two former paramilitary operatives – Johnny and Peter – hit the streets of Bangkok on a dangerous, off-the-record mission to find a killer. They are out to find the men who killed Johnny’s daughter Angel.
When a female corpse is uncovered in the waters of Bangkok, Thailand, resident detective Peter (Sahajak Boonthanakit) identifies her as his goddaughter Angel. He then notifies her father Johnny (Dustin Nguyen) of the unfortunate news and vows to help uncover her killer.
They discover the victim was working as a high-priced call girl and will shoot their way through anyone who gets in their way. The two tear their way through pimps and drug pushers in search of the truth, only to find their quest complicated by pushers Steven (Scott Adkins) and Sammy (Gary Daniels). Carnage is left in their wake.
Thai director Kaosayananda (One Night in Bangkok, Two of Us) delivers a film that’s anything but naive and clear-cut. The film was designed to be a slow burning drama with action scenes peppered throughout it. That’s what Scott Adkins (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, The Legend of Hercules,) is brought in to deliver.
Zero Tolerance (also released as Angels) is a complex revenge thriller. Excellent cast comprises Nguyen (The Rebel), Boonthanakit (Only God Forgives) and Gary Daniels (City Hunter). Boonthanakit, who plays a major role, gives the best performance of the film as Angel’s loyal godfather. He plays co-lead to Nguyen and conveys a sense of purpose in his quest.
