The Department of Environment and Science (DES) is calling on young people to help shape a more gender-equal future for all Queenslanders.
The consultation process on a new women’s strategy is now under way.
Minister for Youth Affairs, Meaghan Scanlon said the views of young people were the key to successfully addressing continuing economic and social inequality faced by Queensland women.
“We want to hear the views, voices and opinions of young Queenslanders to inform the development of the new Queensland Women’s Strategy 2021-26,” Ms Scanlon said.
“The Strategy is about ensuring the future economic security, safety and health of women and girls across the State, however, this consultation isn’t just open to women and girls.”
The Minister said she wanted all young people in the State to have their say “so we can make sure their voices are heard and considered in the development of our next Strategy”.
“We’re listening, so jump in, join the conversation and help us towards our vision of an equal future,” she said.
Participants also have the chance to win one of four $50 vouchers to major retailers by completing the short survey before 8 October.
