Young Public Servants who have passed though the State’s public sector graduate programs have been invited to meet Public Sector Commissioner, Sharyn O’Neill as part of the launch of this year’s recruitment campaign, A Place of Opportunity.
The young graduates will be telling their stories — about the Departments they work in; what they do there, and why they love their roles.
They will feature in a series of video stories that provide an insight into the diversity of opportunities available in the public sector, and the wide range of skills and qualifications that are needed there.
It will remind students graduating with tertiary degrees during the year how diverse and meaningful Public Service careers can be.
Ms O’Neill said the Public Sector Commission was being particularly active with its A Place of Opportunity campaign this year.
“We are planning to have exhibits at lots of university events and careers expos,” Ms O’Neill said.
“We were at Curtin’s O-Day this Wednesday (22 February) and will be at the University of Western Australia’s O-Day on Friday (24 February).”
She said future events would include the Careers Expo in May and the Skills Expo in July.
“In 2023 we have more than 25 graduate and cadetship programs on offer for university graduates who want to make a difference with a career in the Western Australian public sector,” Ms O’Neill said.
