The Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector has called on all entities in the Victorian PS to send two staff members to attend free workshops to learn gender auditing.
The Commission will fund the workshops to provide support and capacity building in order for all defined entities to meet their obligations under the Gender Equality Act 2020.
“To support organisations to meet their obligations under the Act, the Commission has set up a Panel of Providers to ensure specialist and technical advice is readily available and accessible to groups of entities subject to the Act, if needed,” the Commission said.
It said it would fund the Panel to deliver a number of sector-wide workshops and training sessions.
“Defined entities are also able to independently engage the services of panellists, at their own cost,” it said.
The Commission said the Equality Institute was appointed to deliver gender impact assessment (GIA) training through the Panel of Providers.
It said the Institute would provide workshops for all defined entities, until late May, on how to undertake a GIA.
“GenderWorks Australia has been appointed to deliver workplace gender audit training,” it said.
“GenderWorks will provide this training between mid-April and late May for all defined entities.
Further information on the GIA, including how to register, can be accessed at this PS News link and the workplace gender audits at this link.
