Conflict Management Coaching

Location: Sydney

Date: 13-16 November 2023

Time: All day

Email: [email protected]

Overview: Attend Resolution Institute’s CINERGY conflict management coaching workshop to become a trained coach who supports and helps an individual to deal with specific conflict situations. Conflict management coaching brings together coaching and alternative dispute resolution in a powerful process which supports people to reach their goals in the way they manage conflict. It is useful as an early intervention strategy, in situations where parties may not be ready or able to bring the conflict into the open, or where there are habitual patterns of destructive conflict. Conflict management coaching can be used to prepare people to engage more effectively in negotiation, mediation, relational conflict and change. It can also assist in minimising the risk of psychological workplace injury.

Mastering Difficult Conversations and Feedback Masterclass for Public Sector Leaders

Empowering you to have more genuine, effective and constructive engagement within your team and organisation.

Location: Canberra, ACT

Date: 21-22 November 2023

Time: All day

Email: [email protected]

Overview: It’s daunting holding challenging conversations and delivering difficult (but important) feedback. All managers and leaders need to conduct difficult conversations at some time or another. It’s an important, although uncomfortable, learning curve for all emerging leaders. It’s not surprising most of us have the tendency to avoid potential conflict. It’s human nature.
Difficult conversations are tricky, but they cannot be avoided. It is essential for leaders to have the confidence to identify and manage problems at work early on, before they escalate. Without the confidence to navigate difficult conversations, leaders may find themselves avoiding or delaying and actually perpetuating the problem. Generally speaking, this leads to more frustration, internal confusion and resentment and despite all this avoidance and delay – you still have to have the (now more) difficult conversation. The good news is that difficult conversations can be successfully managed and can achieve positive outcomes for all involved.

Managing Psychosocial Risk

Practical strategies to create a healthy workplace and meet regulatory obligations.

Location: Online

Date: 28-29 November 2023

Time: All day

Email: [email protected]

The prevalence and cost of poor mental health to organisations is increasing and has attracted global attention to better manage psychosocial factors. Psychosocial Risk Management is a
critical strategy in establishing future organisational success in this current landscape. Since the Boland Review in 2018, efforts to elevate protection of psychological health to the same level as physical health have culminated in significant legislative and regulatory change. This includes the new codes of practice and duty of care released across various states for PCBUs to better manage the risk of psychosocial hazards at work and to provide workplaces that eliminate or minimise risks to mental ill-health as far as is reasonably practicable. It is, however, not as simple as inserting psychosocial hazards into traditional models established to manage risks to physical safety. In this masterclass, we will explore practical approaches to implementing a Psychosocial Risk Management Framework which will not only allow your organisation to comply with legislative obligations, but genuinely improve the experience of all team members performing their work roles to optimise wellbeing and performance.

Facilitator: Dr Fiona Brown
Dr Fiona Brown is a registered psychologist and holds a Doctor of (Organisational/Industrial) Psychology. She has over 20 years of experience undertaking program development and research in workplace psychology. She is an experienced consultant and researcher who has undertaken companywide psychosocial risk assessments and written Mental Health Strategies to assist large organisations to meet their regulatory requirements.
