The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) has created a survey as one of its initial steps to develop an informed position on how Public Sector employers can better prevent and respond to concerns about sexual harassment.
Launching the survey CPSU said its 10-minute Safe and Respectful Workplaces questionnaire was open to all workers in the Australian Public Service (APS).
“Over the past few weeks, there has been a significant public debate about issues of sexual harassment in the workplace,” the CPSU said.
“Some CPSU members have come forward expressing concerns around policies and processes governing employee wellbeing and respectful behaviours in the workplace, specifically referencing sexual harassment,” it said.
“As your union we want to better ensure all our members have safe and respectful workplaces.”
The CPSU said that to ensure all its members had safe and respectful workplaces it wanted to hear from APS members about their experience of relevant policies and procedures; actions to minimise risk; as well as training and complaint handling processes for sexual harassment.
“This survey will allow us to develop an informed position on how your employer can better prevent and respond to concerns about sexual harassment,” the Union said.
“Your participation in this survey is voluntary and your responses will remain confidential,” it said.
