The University of Canberra (UC) has congratulated the 1,500 students, including its inaugural class of Medical Imaging students, who graduated from its cloisters this week in four separate graduation ceremonies.

Vice-Chancellor and President at UC, Professor Deep Saini said the University’s biggest achievement and greatest source of pride was its students.

“Our students are the heart and soul of UC, and we wish them well as they move on to make what we believe will be an impressive mark in the working world,” Professor Saini said.

“Graduation ceremonies are an opportunity to reflect on a time of personal growth and learning that forms the foundation of a rewarding career,” he said.

“Graduates will celebrate the end of their time as students having completed degrees in Health, IT, Law, Education, Arts and Design, and more.”

Professor Saini said the first cohort of students graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) and Master of Medical Imaging yesterday (9 October).

“These courses are globally recognised and are respected qualifications that enable students to pursue a career as a radiographer, mammographer, angiographer and more,” Professor Saini said.

Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health at UC, Professor Michelle Lincoln said the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Sciences and Master of Medical Imaging furthers UC’s focus on career-orientated courses for health professionals to meet local, national and international health workforce needs.
