Graduates of the University of Canberra (UC) are more likely to gain employment and earn higher starting salaries than other graduates in the ACT, according to the latest edition of the Good Universities Guide.
UC has scored top marks in graduate outcomes, ranking first in the ACT for full-time employment (71 per cent) and starting salaries ($60,000).
Vice-Chancellor and President of UC, Deep Saini said the results were testament to the university’s commitment to delivering work-ready graduates.
“Seeing our students enter the workforce ready to contribute and make a difference in the world brings me so much joy,” Professor Saini said.
“We are a university for the professions,” he said.
“We are truly invested in channelling tangible, real-world results through innovative teaching, experiential learning and academic research.”
He said supporting and enabling UC students, helping them gain the necessary skills to build a strong foundation for successful careers and lives were major commitments at the university.
UC also received a five-star rating for staff qualifications, which put it in the national top 20 per cent. The rating refers to universities with the highest proportion of PhD-qualified academic staff.
“At the University of Canberra, our people are our greatest asset,” Professor Saini said.
“Their high-level qualifications are matched by an extraordinary commitment to education and research.
“It’s so pleasing to see this recognised,” he said.
