The national Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has renewed TAFE NSW’s registration as a single Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for a further seven years, the maximum period granted by the regulator.

Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education, Geoff Lee welcomed the decision, saying it was a reflection of TAFE NSW’s status as a quality provider of vocational education and training.

“I’d like to thank ASQA for the faith they have shown in TAFE NSW’s ability to deliver high quality courses across the State,” Mr Lee said.

He said TAFE NSW took great pride in the quality learning outcomes it achieves for its students.

“I want TAFE NSW to be the gold standard of skills and training Australia-wide and I recognise the importance of ASQA in helping us achieve this goal.”

Mr Lee said the renewal of TAFE NSW’s registration completed the transition of all TAFE locations from 12 separate RTOs’ into a single RTO.

TAFE NSW said on its website that “One TAFE NSW” was an exciting modernisation program that aimed for a sustainable and innovative future, to provide higher quality learning and training for students.

“TAFE NSW will operate as one RTO called ‘TAFE NSW’,” it said.

“This will bring all our locations under one RTO registration number, our students will continue to be trained by the same staff at the same location.”
