Services Australia has been awarded Gold Tier Status by Pride in Diversity as a LGBTQ+ employer of choice!

The recognition means the Agency is now one of the most inclusive employers in Australia for the LGBTQ+ community.

General Manager and LGBTQ+ ally, Jen Rufati and Diversity Director Clayton Trevilyan accepted the award on behalf of the Agency.

“This award recognises our sustained effort to create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels safe,” Ms Rufati said.

“It’s been achieved because of our commitment to respect and value one another every single day,” she said.

“I’m so amazed by the outpouring of support from all of our staff – congratulations to everyone who has contributed.”

Ms Rufati said the Australian Workplace Equality Index sets the benchmark for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion nationally, giving employers all over the country valuable feedback on how they’re tracking when it comes to LGBTQ+ inclusion, highlighting strengths and suggesting areas for improvement.

Associate Director of Pride and Diversity, Mark Latchford shared his congratulations with Services Australia.

“A belated but heartfelt congratulations to Services Australia for their extraordinary success in achieving Gold in the Australian Workplace Equality Index,” Mr Latchford said.

“This is not easy and requires hard and smart work, especially within one of the largest and most far-reaching employers in the country and especially during a year made all the more challenging with the pandemic,” he said.

Services Australia said it valued its LGBTQ+ staff and worked to create an environment where staff felt supported to bring their authentic selves to work.

“It’s something we’re proud to celebrate during Pride Month,” the Agency said.
