Service NSW has assisted families across the State to the tune of $1.5 billion in the past 12 months as part of its ‘cost of living’ programs.

Announcing the figures at Service NSW’s Wynyard Centre last week, Premier, Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Customer Service, Victor Dominello said the rewards were shared across hundreds of thousands of households.

Ms Berejiklian took the opportunity to encourage families across the State to check their eligibility for savings.

“There are more than 70 rebates and incentives available across Government that could potentially save households hundreds of dollars a year,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Mr Dominello said the eligibility check was simple and could be done online, in store or by making an appointment with a ‘cost of living specialist’ at Service NSW.

He said the program had reached several milestones over the past year with about 30,000 cost of living appointments completed, saving customers an average of $550 each.

He said of those customers, 11,000 had saved an average of $440 each on electricity and $134 on gas through Energy Switch.

Mr Dominello said customers had also saved money by using Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers and by downloading the FuelCheck app.

He said 120,000 drivers had saved money on their car registrations.
