Dowsett to NNTT

Justice John Dowsett has been appointed full-time President of the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT) for a five-year term.

Justice Dowsett’s appointment begins on 27 April, the day after he retires as a Federal Court Judge.

For the intervening period, current NNTT member, Helen Shurven, will act in the position.

In his new role, Justice Dowsett will be responsible for managing the administrative affairs of the Tribunal, replacing current Tribunal President, Raelene Webb, whose appointment expired on 31 March.


NBN chief to step down

Bill Morrow is to step down as Chief Executive of NBN Co at the end of the year.

He has held the position since April 2014.

The extended notice provided by Mr Morrow (pictured) will enable the NBN Co Board to undertake a domestic and international search for his successor.


Three named for RIC board

David Foster, Lucia Cade and Mark Lewis have been appointed members of the Board of the Regional Investment Corporation (RIC).

Mr Foster, a current director with Genworth Mortgage Insurance, G8 Education Limited and Local Government Enterprises of Queensland, has been appointed Chair of the Board.

Ms Cade has been Chair of South East Water, a Victorian Government-owned water utility, since 2015 and Mr Lewis is a former Western Australia Minister for Agriculture and Food.

The Regional Investment Corporation (RIC) has been established to administer a new $2 billion farm business concessional loans program and a $2 billion National Water Infrastructure Loan Facility.
