The Industrial Relations Commission has approved the 2019 increase for salaries and salary related allowances for Crown employees, issuing a Circular binding all NSW public sector Agencies to a 2.5 per cent increase for their employees.
The Department of Premier and Cabinet has issued Circular C2019-04 Crown Employees (Public Sector – Salaries 2019) Award which applies to all Agencies in the NSW Public Service, with effect from 1 July.
The Circular, signed by Department Secretary Timothy Reardon, says that salaries and wages are to be adjusted as follows: annual rates to be rounded to the nearest dollar; weekly rates rounded to the nearest 10 cents; rates for part-time employees and those receiving salary maintenance adjusted in line with the above direction.
It says junior rates which are calculated as a percentage of an adult rate, will retain at their relative percentage, while junior rates other than those calculated on a percentage basis are to be increased by 2.5 per cent.
The Circular says salary-related allowances, such as a first aid allowance, have also been increased by 2.5 per cent, however expense related allowances, such as travel, would not be adjusted until further notice.
