Veterans SA has updated its Strategic Outlook to include new deliverables to drive its activities to support South Australia’s veteran community in 2023.
The Agency said its education of the community about the value people with ADF experience bring to the workforce and the need to support Defence children at school were its priorities.
“As well as further funding support for veteran support programs, capacity building and commemorative activities,” Veterans SA said.
Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Geoff Brock said the new deliverables demonstrated the Agency’s continued commitment to improving outcomes for current and former serving members and their families living in South Australia.
“The updated strategy has been influenced by feedback from veterans and their families gathered through forums, surveys and round-table meetings held during 2022,” Mr Brock said.
“The Veterans’ Affairs portfolio is a priority for the South Australian Government, and I feel privileged to be serving the community to achieve positive and lasting outcomes that will improve the lives of current, former, and future serving members and their families,” he said.
Veterans SA released its first 10-year Strategic Outlook in 2021, which identified the Agency’s four strategic pillars: Empowering the community; Promoting inclusion; Data-informed policy best practice; and Honouring service.
Director of Veteran SA, Chantelle Bohan said the Agency was committed to understanding and helping the veteran and defence community.
She said the team was excited to continue its important work educating, empowering and improving the experiences of the veteran and Defence community, as well as highlighting their valuable contributions to the wider South Australian community.
