Motorists are being encouraged to plan travels carefully with hundreds of roads still damaged or closed due to flooding.
Issuing the advice, VicRoads said the Areas of current concern extend along the Murray River from Robinvale to Wodonga, including Echuca, Kerang and Cobram, and along the Goulburn River between Seymour and Lake Eildon.
However, the Agency also said all areas of the State had been impacted by the weather somehow.
“There are currently 442 roads closed across the State,” VicRoads said.
“The community is urged to familiarise themselves with road closures in their area before travelling to determine if it is possible to reach their destination,” it said.
“The road network has suffered significant damage with large potholes and sections of road destroyed.”
VicRoads said crews across the State had assessed almost 2,700 roads and repaired more than 67,600 potholes but significant damages still remained.
It said repairs were being prioritised where the damage was a safety issue.
“Our structural engineers have inspected more than 590 bridges and structures across the network, while Department of Transport representatives are continuing twice daily inspections of the network and delivering emergency repairs where they’re needed most,” VicRoads said.
“Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution with an expectation the road surface will be damaged,” it said.
“Leaving extra distance between vehicles will help drivers get a better view of the road ahead.”
