The NSW Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages has launched a new online service to help couples navigate the legal requirements of marriage.

Announcing the Wishlist Picker service, Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, Victor Dominello said the Registry’s new service would guide couples through all the requirements and services available when planning a wedding.

“Organising a wedding is exciting but can be time consuming and stressful, with the average couple often spending more than $35,000 on their big day,” Mr Dominello said.

“Registry weddings start at $469 and this new online service takes the hassle out of the process by allowing couples to customise their dream day with the click of a button,” he said.

“Couples can simply go online and create a wedding wishlist with the Registry tailored to suit their style and budget – including booking a ceremony location, reception venue, accommodation, floral and photography packages.”

Mr Dominello said the Wishlist Picker was available for customers booking a micro wedding or a registry wedding through the Registry.

He said the available options were dependent on the service and location booked.

“All legal requirements are taken care of through a Registry wedding – from a celebrant, lodgement of notice of intention to marry, as well as two wedding certificates: one standard and one commemorative,” he said.
