Transport Canberra has released some basic information for tertiary students on the different ways to use Canberra’s public transport network.
The Directorate said the easiest way to plan a trip to and from their campus was by using its Journey Planner.
“You can use the journey planner to plan your trip by bus, light rail, walking or riding,” the Agency said.
“You can also try using NXTBUS to track your service in real time,” it said.
Transport Canberra said its priority was to ensure that public transport remained COVID-Safe and daily cleaning had been increased across the network to ensure the safety of passengers.
It said hard surfaces across bus interchanges and light rail stops were cleaned daily, and buses and light rail vehicles twice daily, including all internal surfaces such as MyWay readers, poles, stop buttons and seats.
“Studying can be stressful so take a load off your mind and travel the smart way with MyWay,” the transport supplier said.
“(It is) the most cost-effective option to travel in and around Canberra on public transport,” it said.
“Students with a Tertiary Student Identity Card (for university or CIT) with student name, photo of card holder, full time status, issued by a school within Australia are eligible for a Tertiary MyWay card or concession cash fares.”
Transport Canberra said ticket vending machines could be used to top up MyWay cards for bus, and light rail, as well as to check a MyWay card balance or purchase a single or daily ticket.
