The Public Sector Commission has launched a new recruitment campaign aimed at showcasing the Western Australian Public Service’s range of graduate and cadetship programs.
In a statement, the Commission said the campaign, A Place of Opportunity, was aimed at recent and potential university graduates.
“Our programs are an incredible place to kick-start a valuable and rewarding career,” the Commission said.
“We have a webpage that brings together more than 20 Government graduate and cadetship programs in one place. It’s never been easier to find a graduate opportunity in the public sector.”
The Commission urged tertiary-level students to search the website for programs “that best suit your interests, skills and qualifications — and hear what real graduates have to say about us”.
“We are much different to what you might think,” it said.
“You probably already know about the great work of our nurses, doctors, police and teachers, but we’re much more than this.”
It said the public sector was about scientists, analysts and economists, researchers, social workers and communicators, lawyers, programmers and policy-makers “in fact, almost every job and career you can imagine”.
“To build our State-wide team, we need a new generation of people who want to make a difference, who are looking for a job with meaning and who will bring with them new ways of thinking,” the statement said.
