The Victorian Branch of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) has recognised the work and commitment of 50 women in the State’s public sector, glorifying them for all time in a publication and declaring them recipients of IPAA Victoria’s Top 50 Public Sector Women Awards.

Chief Executive of IPAA Victoria, David Ali said the Top 50 Public Sector Women initiative was launched in 2017 and the Award winners were truly outstanding leaders and role models.

Publishing the awards booklet, IPAA Victoria said that over three years, 150 alumnae had been recognised for their “leadership, inspiration and accomplishment”.

“These Awards are an essential part of IPAA Victoria’s long term work to build gender equity in our sector,” the Institute said.

“The Awards recognise individual excellence and achievement of exceptional female leaders and their significant work.”

It said the Awards also provided a platform of support and encouragement to other women working in the public sector and created role models, for men and women, of successful female leaders.

“Now in its fourth year, the Top 50 Public Sector Women (Victoria) 2020 list has evolved to recognise two groups of women: established and emerging,” the Institute said.

The 50 established and emerging award winners can be found at this PS News link with the Awards judging panel including Deputy Secretary, Local Government and Suburban Development at the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, Emily Phillips; Victorian Public Sector Commissioner Adam Fennessy; Deputy Commissioner of the Victorian Public Sector Commission, Julia Griffith; Chief Executive of the City of Kingston, Julie Reid; Chief Executive of the City of Melbourne, Justin Hanney; and Senior Partner at Davidson Executive & Boards, Clare McCartin.
