The Victorian Division of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) has launched its 2018 Leadership in the Public Sector Awards.
To be awarded in eight categories, the Awards celebrate the excellence and innovation of teams and organisations working in, and with, the public sector in Victoria at all three levels of Government.
For 2018, the categories to be recognized are Advancing Aboriginal Self-Determination; Communication Excellence; Evidence-Based Policy; Human-Centred Service Delivery; Innovative Regulation; Leading Employer; Robust Governance; and Sustainable Communities and Environments.
The Victorian IPAA said the Awards had been presented for more than 10 years and were a “great opportunity to acknowledge the achievement of teams and sharing stories with peers across the public sector”.
“Categories cover core public sector activities in policymaking, service delivery and regulation, as well as communication excellence, environmental sustainability and robust governance.”
IPAA said there were new awards for 2018 celebrating leading public sector employers and recognising initiatives advancing Aboriginal self-determination.
“Nominations are also open for the biennial Young Indigenous Leader Scholarship,” it said.
“This scholarship acknowledges and supports Indigenous public sector employees by offering a professional development scholarship to a high performing Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person,” it said.
Nominations are open to IPAA Victoria members and close on 15 October.
Finalists will be announced in mid-December.
