The Public Service Commission’s iThink WA Public Sector program is calling for ideas from Government sector staff on two new challenges resulting from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the Commission said COVID-19 had sent ripples of dynamic change throughout the sector, in both how services were delivered to the community and the way in which the Government sector worked day-to-day.

“iThink’s two new challenges focus on how to better connect with the sector’s regional workforce and how Agencies have been adapting during the pandemic, with ideas around technology and digital capabilities already emerging as a common theme,” the statement said.

“Now more than ever, collaboration and connection are vital to the way the sector operates.”

It said people were working for the community across the State and it was important they were supported and connected despite the distance between them.

Executive Director of People, Culture and Diversity at the Commission, Sonja O’Leary said events moved so quickly that Agencies needed to continue to adapt to meet the community’s demands by being connected, flexible and innovative.

“If you work in the Government sector, get involved by joining the iThink community to share your ideas,” Ms O’Leary said.

“No idea is too big or small. You never know — your idea might just help someone else find the solution they’re looking for.”
