The annual Premier’s Awards recognising excellence in the delivery of public services to the NSW community have been held in Sydney.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Premier Gladys Berejiklian congratulated the award winners and finalists.
“With over 200 nominations received from across the NSW public sector, there was a strong field of high performing finalists,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Almost 400,000 people work for the NSW Government, helping to shape this great State while providing vital services to its citizens,” she said.
“I thank each and every one of you for your professionalism and commitment to delivering the best outcomes for NSW.”
Ms Berejiklian said the awards acknowledged the importance of public service.
She said the awards celebrated excellence in the delivery of public services to the community by the public sector, not-for-profit organisations and private businesses.
“There is fantastic work being done in the NSW public sector and we want to recognise the people that make it happen,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Award Categories are designed to recognise excellence in the delivery of public services to the NSW community,” she said.
“The five categories reflect the five key policy priorities of the NSW Government.”
The five award categories were: building a strong economy; providing high quality education; creating well connected communities; providing world class customer service; and tackling longstanding social challengers.
The Anthea Kerr award, which recognises future public sector leaders under 35 years of age, was presented to Jane Turner of the Sydney Local Health District.
