South Australia Police (SAPOL) is calling on people from all walks of life to become police officers as part of a new recruitment drive.

Deputy Commissioner of SAPOL, Linda Williams said the Calling All campaign aimed to attract a wide range of people to consider a policing career.

Deputy Commissioner Williams said the campaign sought people who were role models in the community, confident problem solvers, and who could help build a new and contemporary foundation for change across SAPOL.

She said the campaign, to run until June, highlighted the many different career opportunities available to SAPOL police officers.

“It is bold and different – appealing to people from a broad and diverse range of interests including fitness fans, true crime buffs, social influencers, community ambassadors, adventurers and simply people who just want to take their work life to new and exciting heights,” Deputy Commissioner Williams said.

“As a police officer in SAPOL you will have the opportunity to experience so many different policing roles all playing a part in maintaining safer communities across our State,” she said.

“We will ensure those who join SAPOL are prepared for future policing challenges and will be clearly representative of our diverse community.”

Deputy Commissioner Williams said the campaign would seek recruits from across the State, including regional areas, as well as interstate.

“It will include bright and informative advertising billboards; bus shelter posters; wrap-around advertisements on buses and trams; and other outdoor placements,” she said.

“There will be prominent media across regional radio; print media articles; and the proactive use of various Statewide digital and social media platforms.”

Deputy Commissioner Williams said that for the first time SAPOL would also use popular podcasts as a marketing platform.
