The City of Perth Lord Mayor, Basil Zempilas has described some of the unique combination of events that make Perth an exciting place to visit during the school holidays.

“From 24 September to 9 October, you can choose from a range of activities that includes both in and outdoor options, whatever your budget,” Mr Zempilas said.

“The 2022 Irish Dancing National Championships are being held at the Perth Convention Centre until 1 October, while we are also proud to support the much-anticipated AWESOME Festival, an international arts festival for children under the age of 12.”

He said the festival’s program, in and around the Perth Cultural Centre, included theatre, dance and hands-on activities, music, film, literature and visual arts.

“Expect to be amazed by the Jurassic World Lego exhibition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre — prehistoric giants made from more than six million Lego bricks are towering over the crowds, including a life-size Brachiosaurus,” the Lord Mayor said.

“If sport is more your thing, the University of Western Australia is hosting more than 5,000 of Australia’s best student athletes competing across 26 different sports.”

Other events include a poetry festival, craft displays, dining experiences, discounted tours and bonus accommodation deals.
