Roadworks on Parks Way have kicked off with bridge maintenance and asphalt patching to continue through to the end of next week (27 October).
In a statement, City Services said the works also include changes associated with the upgrade of the Coranderrk Street and Parkes Way roundabout.
“The majority of works will be carried out as nightworks between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am to minimise impacts to motorists,” City Services said.
“Some of the works are also occurring on weekends,” it said.
“Our teams are working together to coordinate lane closures between the projects and keep the impacts to traffic to a minimum wherever possible.”
City Services said an intersection upgrade at Parkes Way and Coranderrk Street would see Parkes Way (westbound) right turn into Coranderrk Street closed to all traffic from midnight Friday (21 October) to 6am Monday (24 October).
Meanwhile, it said Acton Tunnel maintenance work would bring lane closures in both directions on Parkes Way on Sunday from 7am to 1pm.
The Directorate said three nights of work from 23 to 25 October would see eastbound lane closures from the Acton Tunnel to the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge for asphalt patching.
Wrapping up the two weeks of work, City Services said Parkes Way (westbound) from the Acton Tunnel to the bridge over Clunies Ross Street would experience lane closures on 26 and 27 October from 8pm to 6am.
