This five track EP is the first recorded work that I’ve heard from Australian singer/songwriter Jack Gray.
Nights Like This is a collection of songs written and recorded over the past two years that capture the beautiful highs, and messy lows, of the journey into adulthood.
The EP is pop orientated and ranges from the up-tempo Down Side Of Up which clocks in at a little under two and a half minutes to the hushed piano ballad of Take Our Time which builds into a dreamy synth-scape exploring fantasy and reality through a tragic, but beautiful, love story.
Overall the EP is gentle and thoughtful rather than energetic and shallow.
The opening track, Fools, has already received air time on Australian radio station Triple J.
Jack hails from Mackay in Queensland and after finishing high school he relocated to Brisbane to study for a Bachelor of Music.
After the success of his break-out single Red Rental Car in 2017, which was followed by the equally successful My Hands in 2018, he was signed to Warner Music and Nights Like This is his debut release for them.
He has had a meteoric rise and earlier this year finished his first run of North American shows supporting fellow Aussie Dean Lewis.
This was quickly followed by his first solo showcase in New York at the Standard East Village on 3 June.
Jack is embarking on an Australian tour to support Nights Like This however his first shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane have either sold out or are selling fast so if you want to see him I suggest you don’t delay.
