New website for jobs in disability

National Disability Services WA has launched a new website supporting the disability sector through the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The website, which is supported by funding from the Department of Communities, will enable job seekers and employers across the State to efficiently provide employment opportunities in the disability sector.

Minister for Disability Services, Stephen Dawson said the website was intended to reduce the time and effort required to apply for jobs in the disability sector and to shortlist job seekers.

“Appropriately-skilled workers whose employment has been impacted as a result of COVID-19 will be able to make themselves known to employers needing additional staff during the pandemic,” Mr Dawson said.

“Disability service providers and individuals who self-manage their individualised plan can use the website to search for and employ suitable staff.”

Mr Dawson said there would be many people seeking work at this time who had experience in the health and community service sectors whose skills and values would be welcomed by the disability sector.

“The disability sector in Western Australia offers a wide variety of meaningful jobs and valued careers for job seekers who have the right values and approach, focused on supporting people with disability to achieve their goals and meet their specific daily living needs,” the Minister said.

The new website can be accessed at this PS News link.
