The Aged Care Pricing Commissioner has set up a new website containing a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) application form to improve and simplify the application process for residential aged care providers.
In a statement, the Commissioner said the website had improved functionality, including easier navigation and a new calculator that would help providers each year with the indexation of an approved RAD price.
He said the RAD application form had many benefits including requests for essential information only; instructions and guidance to help complete the form; the ability to provide a rationale for the proposed RAD price; and places to provide a list of facility features that provided value to residents at the aged care home.
“The new form and data sheet should reduce the number of requests from us for more information from providers,” the Commissioner said.
“We can help providers with the initial set-up of the data sheet if required. Once completed, the applicant can use the same spreadsheet for their own records and can update it for future applications.”
The Commissioner’s statement said applications prepared on the old forms would be accepted until the end of the year.
“From 1 January 2021, providers will need to use the new form and data sheet,” he said.
