Victoria’s Public Servants working on the prevention of family violence are to be supported with a new toolkit from Respect Victoria to help them monitor and evaluate family violence prevention projects.
Launching the Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) toolkit, Respect Victoria said the toolkit would provide practitioners with a clear step-by-step process to undertake evaluations, complete with templates and resources.
“The MEL Toolkit is designed for anyone working in primary prevention, and its tailored approach can be applied to a diverse range of programs and initiatives,” Respect Victoria said.
“The Toolkit is for practitioners, project managers, and organisations who want to improve their monitoring, evaluation and learning practices,” it said.
“It has eight steps across four stages.”
Respect Victoria said that for people managing funding within organisations, the toolkit could support funding applications, assist with reporting, and help inform future projects.
The Agency said the Toolkit was designed to encourage good practice, and to be adapted to local or individual circumstances – “because you know your community best.”
“You can also use it to commission external evaluations, as well as design better practices,” it said.
Respect Victoria said the toolkit project complemented the Monitoring and Evaluation Strategic Framework that sat alongside the State’s Free From Violence strategy.
“The content will continue to evolve as we develop more resources,” it said.
“This will include the revised indicators and measures from the new Free from Violence Outcomes Framework.”
